With two victories over the Jayhawks, it marked Tech’s first sweep of a Big 12 team in three years. … Carr had 23 points in the first meeting with Texas. The Lady Raiders were tied in that game 55-55 after three quarters before the Longhorns pulled away. … Formerly at Minnesota, first-year coach Marlene Stollings has transformed a Tech team that was 7-23, 1-17 in the Big 12 last season. As a player at Eastern High in Beaver, Ohio, in the early 1990s, Stollings set a state record (boys or girls) with 3,514 career points, ahead of LeBron James’ 2,657.
