Cole Hammer ties for first at Southern Highlands Collegiate

Cole Hammer shot 64, a season low, to finish in a tie for first at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev., Tuesday.

Hammer led the Longhorns men’s golf team to a second-place finish, falling a shot behind Oklahoma. Texas shot 851 while the Sooners won the tournament with a score of 850.

Hammer shot 206 for the tournament, starting with a 74 in the first round before shooting 68 in the second round. He and Jack Trent of UNLV both finished at 10 under par. Hammer shot up 13 places in the process.


Parker Coody also recorded a top-10 finish for the Longhorns, shooting 209 for the tournament. His best round was a 66 in the second round.

Pierceson Coody finished tied for 37th while Spencer Soosman and Steven Chervony tied for 55th.
