The No. 16 Texas women’s tennis team defeated No. 17 Florida State 4-1 in a dual match at the Texas Tennis Center on Friday.
After losing the doubles point, the Longhorns (6-2) rallied to win four straight singles matches to take the win.
Anna Turati clinched the match with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Ana Oparenovic. Turati trailed 3-1 in the second set before winning five straight games to force a third set.
Following doubles action, Bojana Markovic tied the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Nandini Das before Fernanda Labraña also took a straight-sets victory. Labraña topped Ariana Rahmanparast 6-3, 6-4 to give Texas a 2-1 lead.
Katie Poluta won in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, over Andrea Garcia to put the Longhorns in position to win.
