The No. 18 Texas women’s tennis team defeated Illinois 6-1 at the Texas Tennis Center for its seventh win of the season.
The Longhorns improved to 7-3 after winning every singles match of the contest.
Illinois won the doubles point, but that advantage didn’t last long.
Petra Granic tied the match with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Mia Rabinowitz before Katie Poluta gave the Longhorns the lead with a 6-0, 6-4 win.
Bianca Turati made it 3-1 as she defeated Asuka Kawaii in straight sets as well, 6-3, 6-2.
Anna Turati clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Jaclyn Switkes.
With the match decided, the final two singles matches concluded anyway. Bojana Markovic and Fernanda Labraña each earned victories.
Texas begins Big 12 action when it faces Kansas State on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Texas Tennis Center.
