Texas releases new artist renderings showing more about Royal-Memorial Stadium expansion
Posted March 20th, 2019
Texas has posted new artist renderings of the south end zone stadium expansion project inside Royal-Memorial Stadium, giving fans a better idea of what to expect.
The artist renderings were done by Populous, the company overseeing the $175-million expansion project.
According to Texas, the premium loge boxes will have “double counter space, four movable rolling chairs, all-inclusive food and soft drinks, personal storage and refrigerator.”
The field club suites will be “As close as you can be to the action without a helmet!,” according to Texas’ website.
Athletic director Chris Del Conte has already secured $80 million from eight families for eight new suites that will go on both sides of the stadium’s new scoreboard. The project has 94 loge boxes ranging in price from $150,000 to $500,000, Del Conte said in February. At the time, UT fundraisers had already sold 82.
Construction is expected to begin in May. The project should be completed prior to the 2021 football season.
