With Austin under a flash flood watch through this evening, Texas’ softball team has called off its home game against Prairie View A&M.

In a statement, Texas said the Longhorns and Lady Panthers are “exploring possible options for re-scheduling the contest before the end of the regular season.” Wednesday was supposed to be the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Prairie View A&M is 24-12 this season.

Next up for Texas (36-12; 7-6) is a three-game series at Kansas (15-29; 3-9) this weekend. The Jayhawks are coached by Jennifer McFalls, who was an assistant at Texas from 2011-18. Ranked 11th in the NFCA poll, UT has won 25 of its last 27 games against Kansas.
