The Texas track and field team earned nine wins and posted a meet record in the sprint medley relay on the first night of the National Relay Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
Washington Brown, Micaiah Harris, Jonathan Jones and Sam Worley teamed up to finish the sprint medley relay in 3 minutes, 15 seconds to set the meet record.
Harris also won the men’s 100 meters in 10.29.
On the women’s side, Kynnedy Flannel took second in the 100 as the Longhorns went 2-3 in the race. Flannel beat teammate Julien Alfred by .01 with a time of 11.38.
Charles Mills won the men’s 1,500 meters in 3:50.28. Destiny Collins won the women’s event in 4:19.16 to post the 10th-best time in UT history.
Alex Rogers won the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase in 8:48.83. Meghan Lloyd also won the event for the women with a time of 10:34.72.
John Burt added another victory with his 110-meter hurdles win. He posted a time of 13.70. For the women, Rushelle Burton took third in 13.08.
Both men’s and women’s teams won the 6,000-meter relay. The men won in 15:53.39 while the women took first in 18:02.28.
Teahna Daniels, Kennedy Simon, Zola Golden and Gabby Crank teamed up to win the women’s sprint medley relay in 3:46.22.
In field events, Steffin McCarter took second in the long jump while Trevor Danielson finished third in the javelin.
The National Relay Championships conclude on Saturday.
