The Texas women’s golf team improved by six strokes to move into first place at the NCAA regional at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla., on Tuesday.
Texas shot 281 in the second round following its score of 287 in the first round on Monday. The Longhorns lead with an overall score of 568, one shot better than Florida.
Agathe Laisne leads the Longhorns after shooting 68 in the second round for a total of 139. That has her tied for third place.
Kaitlyn Papp is tied for eighth after shooting 71 and 70 through the first two rounds.
Sara Kouskova sits tied for 27th while Emilee Hoffman is tied for 29th. Kouskova shot 145 through two rounds while Hoffman is a stroke back.
Hailee Cooper rounds out the UT scorers at 148 through two rounds. She’s tied for 43rd.
The Longhorns finished strong, making four birdies on the last hole.
The regional concludes Wednesday and the top six teams advance to the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
