Texas rower Milica Slijepcevic earned the honor of Big 12 Rower of the Year, the league announced Wednesday.
“Mica is very deserving of this award,” said head coach Dave O’Neill. “She’s worked really hard the last few years and has turned herself into a world-class rower. More importantly she’s been a terrific teammate and leader and has been integral to our team’s success.”
Slijepcevic adds the award to three Big 12 titles and two All-Big 12 honors. She helped the Longhorns win the first eight race in 6:25.872 at the Big 12 Championship this season.
The junior is the third straight Longhorn, fifth overall, to earn the Rower of the Year title. Emily Froehlich earned the honor in 2018 while Gia Doonan took the award in 2017. Doonan also previously won the award in 2015.
