Four-star quarterback Malik Hornsby de-commits from Mack Brown, North Carolina

Anyone familiar with Mack Brown and college football knows the former Texas head coach can recruit. He’s living up to his reputation in his first full cycle as the head coach at North Carolina. His 2020 recruiting class took a blow Tuesday afternoon when four-star quarterback Malik Hornsby de-committed from the Tar Heels. The 6-2, 175-pound Fort Bend Marshall product committed to North Carolina on May 15.

Hornsby led Fort Bend Marshall to the Class 5A Division II state championship game as a junior. The dual-threat quarterback passed for 1,970 yards and 23 touchdowns, adding 758 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior. He’s ranked No. 16 on the 2020 Fabulous 55. Hornsby holds 21 offers and was leaning towards Texas A&M as a junior.
