Instead of the beach or a campsite, some of Texas’ Longhorns are spending their summer vacations at a baseball field.

This summer, Texas has sent a handful of its players to participate in various collegiate wood bat leagues across the country. Perhaps no Longhorn is having a better summer than outfielder Eric Kennedy. Hitting .385 in the California League, Kennedy has gone deep twice this summer. Once he reaches base, Kennedy has also been a nuisance since he has yet to be caught over his 16 attempted steals.

During his freshman year at Texas, Kennedy hit .310 with two home runs. He was 9-for-11 on his steals.
