Where to watch the 2019 UT vs. OU game in Austin

Posted October 11th, 2019

It’s that time of the year.

Red River Rivalry week is here, and if you’re not headed up to the Cotton Bowl this weekend, here’s where you can catch the game at a watch party in town. The game kicks off at 11 a.m., so you’ll really have to take the “come early” part of “come early, be loud, stay late, wear orange” seriously.

The University of Texas Club

It may be an away game, but you can still head to DKR. For $17, the UT Club is offering complimentary chips and queso, drink specials and a full brunch spread and salad bar.

TLC Austin

Enjoy a State Fair-themed watch party complete with funnel cakes, fried Snickers, corn dogs, face painting and a balloon artist, as well as $2 Real Ale drafts and a brunch menu, plus TLC’s full menu.

Buford’s Backyard Beer Garden

Watch the game with an 180-inch TV, 50 beers on tap and some of the best pizza in Austin from Via 313.

Black Sheep Lodge

One of Austin’s most popular sports bars will open at 10:30 a.m. and offer specials on beer and wells, as well as $1 orange Jell-O shots.

Pluckers at the Linc

104.9 The Horn is hosting its watch party at Pluckers’ Linc location, and they’ll give away a TV as well as tickets to the Kansas game on Oct. 19.

Doc’s Backyard

The Texas Exes Austin Chapter hosts its watch parties at Doc’s Backyard in Sunset Valley for every away game. Doc’s is family-friendly and dog-friendly, so you can bring the whole crew.

Castro’s Bar and Grill

Castro’s in Lakeway is hosting a watch party complete with free barbecue and all the fixings, including brisket sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw and mac and cheese. There will also be a free concert during halftime.

Bucket’s Deli and Sports Bar

Head east for $2 mimosas and the self-proclaimed “coldest beer in East Austin.”

The Westwood Gastropub

If you’re in North Austin, the Westwood Gastropub will buy one round of shots after Texas’ first touchdown. They’ll also have plenty of drink specials as well as their brunch, lunch and dinner menus.

Toss Pizzeria & Pub

Head down South First for breakfast pies, “beermosas” and other drink specials. It’s never too early for pizza. The pizza joint’s Bee Cave location is also hosting a watch party.

Hanover’s 2.0

Enjoy brunch from The Rolling Rooster, unlimited mimosas and watch the game on two 20-foot projectors.
