Longhorns advance in doubles and singles at H-E-B Pro Tennis Open

The Turati sisters each won singles matches to advance to the semifinals of the H-E-B Pro Tennis Open at the Texas Tennis Center on Friday.

Bianca Turati, the top seed at the event, defeated Dominique Schaefer 6-3, 6-2. Anna Turati also won in straight sets, topping Elvina Kalieva 6-1, 6-2.

The Turati twins also won in the doubles semifinals, defeating Charlotte Chavatipon and Elaine Chervinsky 7-5, 6-1.

The duo won during the doubles quarterfinals earlier in the day, beating Alexa Noel and Gianna Pielet 6-4, 6-2. That match began Thursday but lightning delayed its completion until Friday.

Fernanda Labraña and Melany Solange Krywoj also advanced with a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) win over Tiphanie Fiquet and Alyssa Tobita in the semis. They’ll take on the Turati sisters in Saturday’s final.

Anna Turati will face Krywoj on Saturday in the singles semifinals while Bianca Turati faces Chavatipon.
