The No. 2-ranked Texas women’s golf team and Sophie Guo set school records Wednesday on the way to winning the White Sands Invitational in the Bahamas.
Guo shot 66 for the second time in three rounds to finish at 17-under-par 199 and take medalist honors. Her score is the first sub-200 total through 54 holes in UT history.
The Longhorns shot 36 under par, a school record, to win the tournament by 29 strokes. The previous record was 28-under, set at the Schooner Fall Classic in 2018.
Four Longhorns finished in the top six with all five in the top 20. Sára Kousková took third place while shooting 209. Kaitlyn Papp tied for fourth with a 210. Emilee Hoffman took a tie for sixth at 211 while Hailee Cooper finished tied for 19th at 217.
