Texas men’s tennis collects more wins at Miami Invitational

The Texas men’s tennis team picked up 10 more wins at the Miami Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla., on Saturday.

The Longhorns won six singles matches and took four doubles contests on the second day of action.

Yuya Ito, ranked second in the country, defeated No. 12 Phillip Henning of Georgia 6-4, 2-6, 6-0.

Chih Chi Huang also won in three sets, topping Baptiste Anselmo of Georgia 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

Christian Sigsgaard was upset by No. 57 Trent Bryde of Georgia 7-6 (12-10), 3-6, 6-4. The No. 13 Longhorn did earn a win in doubles as he partnered with Ito for an 8-4 victory against a duo from Wisconsin.

Jacob Bullard and Cleeve Harper both earned singles wins as well. The freshmen topped players from Georgia in straight sets.

Nevin Arimilli and Eshan Talluri rounded out the singles winners for Texas.

Texas swept its doubles matches with all wins coming against Wisconsin. Joining Ito and Sigsgaard as victors, Eliot Spizzirri and Siem Woldeab won 8-2. Harper and Huang won 8-4 while Bullard and Evin McDonald won 8-2.
