Texas women’s tennis falls to Pepperdine on the road

The Texas women’s tennis team ran into trouble when it faced No. 17 Pepperdine on Friday, falling 7-0 in Malibu, Calif.

Pepperdine won the doubles point and added six singles matches to take the win over the No. 4 Longhorns.

Jessica Failla clinched the win by defeating Anna Turati 6-3, 6-1.

Astrid Olsen beat Marta Perez Mur 6-4, 6-4 to set up the clinching match.

The Longhorns failed to win the doubles point, with the Waves taking two matches. Failla and Anastasia Iamachkine clinched the point with a 6-3 win over Bianca and Anna Turati.

Iamachkine made it 2-0 with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Adri Nagy.
