Longhorns add four-star cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem to 2021 recruiting class

Texas added potential star power to its future secondary on Monday when cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem became the first player at his position to pledge to the Longhorns in the 2021 recruiting class. The 6-1, 175-pound four-star Dallas Kimball chose Texas over 33 other offers, including Georgia and LSU. Ibraheem is ranked 18th on the 2021 Fabulous 55.Β

Ibraheem is a two-time first-team all-district selection despite opponents avoiding his side of the field. Heβs recorded 59 tackles, broken up 11 passes and collected a pair of interceptions during his two years on varsity. Ibraheem also runs track at Kimball, excelling in the 200-meters and long jump. Expected starters Jalen Green and D’Shawn Jamison will be seniors by the time Ibraheem and his 2021 classmates would arrive on campus. Ibraheem hopes to compete for a starting spot in his second year at Texas.Β
Tom Hermanβs 2021 recruiting class now consists of 13 members. Ibraheem is the first cornerback pledge. Texas also added defensive back JD Coffey on Monday. The duo committed together in a video posted on Twitter.Β
