Fourth recruit backs off Texas pledge

Posted January 16th, 2014

On Thursday, Dallas Lincoln wide receiver Emanuel Porter officially became the fourth Texas pledge to de-commit since Charlie Strong took over as head coach of the Longhorns.

Strong, who’s traveling around the state recruiting with the dead period now over, visited Lincoln High Thursday morning, but was unable to keep Porter from backing off his pledge. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound receiver has committed to TCU.

This isn’t the first time he committed to the Horned Frogs. Porter de-committed from the TCU back in June before joining the Texas class.

Porter is a three-star receiver who is rated as the 62nd overall player in Texas by 247Spots Composite.
