The top uncommitted player in the state of Texas, Coppell defensive end Solomon Thomas, will announce his decision at 7 a.m. on signing day (Wednesday, Feb. 5) on ESPNU.
The annual 11-hour signing day marathon on ESPNU will start its broadcast at 7 a.m. Central Time, with Thomas’ declaration slated to be the first of 13 throughout the day.
Thomas is No. 3 on the final American-Statesman’s Fabulous 55 list of the state’s top recruits. Defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao (No. 40) is the only other uncommitted prospect with national signing day just two days away.
The 247Sports Composite five-star defender who dominated in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl is expected by many to choose Stanford over Arkansas and UCLA.
Texas was a player early in the recruitment of Thomas, but the 6-foot-3, 258-pounder cooled off of any interest in the Longhorns since an unofficial visit to Austin in mid-September.
No other players from Texas are on ESPNU’s announcement schedule, and none of the 13 recruits are considering the Longhorns.
