Posted February 4th, 2014

Multiple outlets are reporting Lake Tavis running back Shaun Nixon has switched his pledge from Texas A&M to TCU.

The four-star running back, ranked No. 20 in the final release of the American-Statesman Fabulous 55, had been committed to Texas A&M since November of his junior season.

A surprise visit to Fort Worth over the weekend created wide-spread speculation by recruitniks that Nixon would flip to the Horned Frogs.

Fast and elusive at 5-feet-9-inches, 185 pounds, Nixon ran for 1,730 yards and 23 touchdowns while helping the Cavaliers reach the 5A Division 2 state semifinals in 2013.

The Horned Frogs now have 23 pledges in their 2014 class – Nixon is the highest rated. 247Sports Composite rates him as the No. 182 overall recruit in the country, and the No. 5 all-purpose aback.

Texas A&M has 21 commitments in a class that ranks fourth in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite.
