Texas picked up its ninth commitment in the 2015 class Monday afternoon when Galena Park North Shore running back Tristian Houston pledged to the Longhorns.
Houston, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound speed back, rushed for 18 touchdowns and nearly 1,500 yards as a junior in 2013 for the regional finalists in 2013.
The three-star running back, who joins Dallas South Oak Cliff’s Jordan Stevenson as the second back in the class, chose Texas upon receiving an offer. He picked the Longhorns over LSU, Arkansas and a handful of other FBS programs.
At this early stage in the 2015 recruiting cycle, UT’s class ranks first in the Big 12 and eighth overall.
