University of Texas diving coach Matt Scoggin will coach the U.S. at the FINA Diving World Cup in Shanghai from July 15 to 20. Held every other year, this is the top international meet of 2014.
Two of the 12 Americans on the World Cup team are coached by Scoggin at Texas. Murphy Bromberg will compete in women’s individual 10-meter and Maren Taylor in women’s individual 3-meter. Both won national titles this winter to earn spots on the team.
This is not Scoggin’s first foray into international coaching. He assisted the Americans at the 2013 world championships in Barcelona and was head coach at the Pan American Games in 2011.
