Texas and Notre Dame are set to play four games in the coming years. Now it might be two.
The 2019 and 2020 meetings are in jeopardy after Notre Dame announced Wednesday a home-and-home series with Georgia for 2017 and 2019. Apparently one national power in 2019 is enough for the Irish. For the time being, UT will host ND in 2019 and visit South Bend the following year.
Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbick told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy the Irish hope to reschedule with Texas.
Unchanged, or so it seems, are games between UT and ND in 2015 and 2016. The teams will open the 2015 season in South Bend and open the 2016 season in Austin.
