Former Missouri receiver DGB joining OU team

Posted July 3rd, 2014

Former Missouri receiver Dorial Green-Beckham is joining the team at Oklahoma, OU announced on Twitter this afternoon. Fascinating offseason news. It’s simple: If DGB gets better off the field, OU gets better on the field.

Multiple reports state former Missouri receiver Dorial Green-Beckham is in Norman today, presumably exploring joining the team at Oklahoma.

There are many things to consider, not the least of which is if Bob Stoops would accept a player dismissed at Missouri for allegedly pushing a female student down several stairs. That incident, of course, came after Green-Beckham was arrested twice on marijuana charges.

Let’s say Stoops says yes, that he gives a second chance to the nation’s top recruit of 2012. Then what? Does the NCAA grant DGB a waiver to play this season? Seems unlikely. Does DGB dominate the Sooners’ practice squad for a year and reboot his college career in 2015? Does he dominate the Sooners’ practice squad for a year and begin his NFL career in 2015?

There’s a lot of things to consider. One thing is for sure: DGB’s decision can wait until Monday. Let the Oklahoma writers enjoy their holiday weekend.
