On the same day he suspended two players who were charged with sexual assault, Texas football coach Charlie Strong dismissed two other players.
Chevoski Collins and Jalen Overstreet are gone from the program for a violation of team rules, the American-Statesman has learned. Orangebloods.com was the first to report their dismissals late Thursday.
Overstreet, a running back from Tatum, Texas, appeared in nine games last year as a redshirt freshman. Ninety two of his 102 rushing yards came in the opener against New Mexico State.
Collins, a defensive back from Livingston, Texas, redshirted last year as a freshman. On Thursday morning, Strong released a statement saying he had indefinitely suspended receivers Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander, who were charged with sexual assault stemming from an on-campus incident in the early morning hours of June 22.
