On Sunday, the Longhorns added the 13th commitment to their 2015 football signing class in Tallahassee, Fla. wide receiver John Burt.
Burt, a four-star prospect and the nation’s No. 19 receiver by 247Sports, picked Texas over Auburn, a decision most expected after Burt declared the Longhorns his leader two weeks ago.
After signing five receivers in February, Texas now has its first of 2015 in the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Burt. He reports 21 major offers, including from hometown Florida State. The Seminoles recently cooled on Burt, who chose Texas in part because he has family in Austin. He also grew up a Longhorns fans.
His addition could help Texas offset the possible departures of current Longhorns receivers Kendall Sanders, a junior, and redshirt freshman Montrel Meander, who were suspended from the program last week after being charged with felony sexual assault.
