Texas Tech announced a sellout Wednesday for its Nov. 1 home football game against Texas, marking the earliest sellout of a game in school history.
A couple of things:
-Although this is technically a sellout, not every ticket has been sold. Texas was allotted 2000 tickets for the game and has not sold them all, we are told. The deadline has passed for Texas to return any unsold tickets to Texas Tech, so Texas will eat any unsold tickets. Therefore, yes, it’s a sellout.
-Texas Tech is directing fans wanting tickets to shop online at Vivid Seats, its official ticket reseller. As of 1:30 p.m. tickets for the game were going for as low as $104, almost $20 above face value. So if you wish to sit with other Longhorns fans, and save some cash, order your tickets through Texas.
