A preliminary hearing for former Texas football players Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander was postponed Thursday morning and rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Sept. 2.
Sanders and Meander each face a charge of second-degree felony sexual assault stemming from a June 21 incident in Meander’s dorm room involving a female student. The charge carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. Sanders also faces a charge of improper photography.
Longhorns coach Charlie Strong, who initially suspended Sanders and Meander, said on Sunday that he has dismissed the players. Both were wide receivers.
