Texas offensive lineman Rami Hammad has told teammates he intends to transfer, according to a report posted late Sunday by Orangebloods.com.
Hammad could not be reached, and a team spokesman could not confirm the report.
Hammad had been working with the third-team line. He redshirted last season after graduating from Irving. He came to Texas rated the ninth-best offensive guard the nation by 247sports.com.
Junior Taylor Doyle of Lake Travis and freshman Elijah Rodriguez had solidified themselves as the backups at both guard positions.
