Teammates, others react to Ash’s retiring

Posted September 17th, 2014

As you probably heard, quarterback David Ash has decided to quit football. Longhorns coach Charlie Strong announced the news Wednesday at his bye week news conference. Several of Ash’s teammates and other key figures at Texas took to Twitter to wish Ash well.

Former Longhorns coach Mack Brown recruited Ash to Texas.

Former Longhorns basketball player Kevin Durant called Ash “a brother.”

Tight end M.J. McFarland caught a touchdown pass last week from Ash’s replacement, Tyrone Swoopes.

Wide receiver Jaxon Shipley was one of Ash’s go-to targets.
