Texas baseball No. 23 in preseason poll

Defending Big 12 tournament champion Texas checks in at No. 23 in the D1Baseball.com preseason top 25.
The Longhorns are among three Big 12 teams ranked, joining Oklahoma State (No. 8) and TCU (No. 19). All three advanced to last year’s NCAA postseason where Texas was eliminated in two games.
In December, Collegiate Baseball released its preseason top 40, and placed Texas in the final spot. TCU is No. 15 and OSU No. 25. Texas Tech also was recognized, coming in one spot ahead of Texas at No. 39.
Texas opens Augie Garrido’s 20th season as coach on Feb. 19-21 against UNLV at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
