Baylor president, football coach out amid sexual assault scandal
Posted May 26th, 2016
Baylor University announced Thursday that head football coach Art Briles would be indefinitely suspended with the “intent to terminate.” The school also placed athletic director Ian McCaw on probation and moved school president Ken Starr to chancellor. The changes come amidst a wave of sexual assault allegations against several Baylor football players. Many of the team’s players took to Twitter to express their disapproval of Briles’ ousting.
In a press release the school said it was “horrified by the extent of these acts of sexual violence” and “mishandling of reports.”
