Tenth-ranked Texas shot three under par in the final round to finish tied for sixth place at the U.S. Collegiate Championship Sunday at the Golf Club of Georgia in Atlanta.
Second-ranked Auburn and third-ranked Wake Forest tied for first at 9-under par. Clemson finished third at 5-under par and Texas tied Stanford at 5-over par.
Stanford’s Maverick McNealy shot a 5-under-par 67 to finish in a four-way tie for first place. McNealy, Derek Bard of Virgnia, Wake Forest’s Cameron Young, and Auburn’s Will Long shared medalist honors at 6-under par.
Texas junior Beau Hossler carded a 1-under-par 71 in the final round and finished tied for eighth place at 4-under par. It was Hossler’s second top-ten finish of the season and his sixth straight round under par.
UT’s Scottie Scheffler closed the tournament with a 2-under-par 70 and tied for eighteenth place at even par. Texas’ Doug Ghim shot even par on Sunday and tied for 22nd at 1-over par. Longhorn Gavin Hall carded a 72 and finished at 8-over par.
