Beau Hossler shot a 5-under 65 in the first round of the Arizona Intercollegiate to lead the No. 10 Texas Longhorns to a spot in second place after the final holes of the second round were suspended due to darkness on Friday in Tucson, Ariz. Hossler is tied for first place at 8-under par through 16 holes of the second round.
Hossler’s 65 in the first round and 61 through 16 holes of the second have him tied with Washington’s Frank Garber. Hossler has 12 birdies in the tournament so far. Washington leads overall at 9-under par through 14-15 holes of the second round with Texas two shots behind through 15-16.
Scottie Scheffler shot a first-round 73 and is currently in a tie for 8th place at 1-under par. He has six birdies in the competition and two eagles, including a hole-in-one on the seventh hole.
Doug Ghim is even and in a tie for 10th place after shooting a 72 in the first round. He has two more holes to finish the second round.
Gavin Hall shot a 74 in the first round and his second round was highlighted by an eagle as he sits in a tie for 14th. Taylor Funk is tied for 43rd place at 8-over par.
