Longhorns in third place at Southern Highlands

The Texas men’s golf team ended the second round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters tied for third place in Las Vegas, Nev. on Tuesday. Their play moved them up seven spots in the standings.
Texas sits nine strokes out of first place, after shooting 284, 5 over par for the round. Southern Cal is in first place after shooting 280, putting them at 4 under par and seven shots ahead of second place Arizona State.
The Longhorns were led by Beau Hossler and Scottie Scheffler, both shooting 69 on the day to tie for ninth place at 1-under. They both moved up 14 spots on the day.
Doug Ghim shot a 74, matching his first day performance for a tie for 33rd place. Gavin Hall shot a 72 and sits one shot behind Ghim in a tie for 40th place. Taylor Funk is at 11-over after two rounds and tied for 62nd place.
Sean Crocker of Southern Cal and Jon Rahm of Arizona State are tied for first place at 6-under.
The tournament concludes Wednesday at Southern Highlands Golf Club.
