Second-ranked Texas shot eight over par in the final round of the Olympia Fields Fighting Illini Invitational and finished in eighth place at 28 over par.
No. 3 Florida State shot one under par in the final round and won the tournament at six over. The Seminoles trailed fifth-ranked Stanford by two strokes heading into the third round. Stanford shot eleven over par in the third round to finish fourth at 16 over.
Nineteenth-ranked Oklahoma State finished second at nine over par and tenth-ranked Arizona State was third at 15 over par.
Stanford’s Maverick McNealy shot one over par and won medalist honors at seven under par. Illinois Thomas Detry took second at four under par after shooting one under in the final round.
UT’s Dough Ghim carded an even par 70 and finished tied for sixth at one under par. It was Ghim’s third straight top ten finish. Texas sophomore Scottie Scheffler also shot even par in the third round with three birdies and three bogeys, finishing in a tie for 22nd.
UT’s Tayler Termeer and Gavin Hall shot four over par 74s and finished in 43rd and 50th place.
