Vince Young was one point away from not wearing a Cal shirt. As if the Longhorns didn’t have enough to endure Saturday with a heartbreaking 45-44 loss and an unlit tower, they had to suffer the image of Young in navy.
In a bet made early August, Young agreed to wear a personalized Cal shirt in the event that the Longhorns fell to the Golden Bears. If the Longhorns won, Young’s friend and former Cal player Scott Nady agreed to wear a Texas shirt.
“It’s going to look fantastic on him during the post game interviews and analysis following the Cal vs. Texas game,” Nady said earlier this month on his Instagram. A sad sight regardless, at least Young kept his horns high in Nady’s picture of him wearing his Cal shirt.
The loss follows joking comments made by Malik Jefferson earlier this week saying it’s time to look beyond Young and make room for new players.
“No offense to him but it’s time to get his name out of here,” Jefferson said.
