Texas head coach Jerritt Elliott announced on Saturday that freshman Micaya White will redshirt this season.

White was diagnosed with a tibial stress fracture in early August.

Coming out of high school, she was the fourth-ranked player on the Prep Volleyball 2015 Senior Aces list and was named 2015 Big 12 preseason freshman of the year.

“This is an unfortunate situation, but we always will put our players’ health first.” said Elliot.  “Micaya is a big-time volleyball player and we will use the remainder of the year to get her healthy and stronger.”
