Texas senior Breaunna Addison defeated Houston’s Despoina Vogasari to win the main singles draw at the ITA Texas Regional Championships on Monday in College Station.
Addison dropped the first set against Vogasari 3-6, then won the second set 6-2 and closed with a 6-1 win in the third. Addison eliminated Rice’s Katherine Ip 6-0, 6-4 in the semifinals Monday morning to reach the final. She is the first Longhorn to win the ITA Texas Regional since Aeriel Ellis in 2009.
