The Texas women’s tennis team won two singles matches and collected a doubles victory in the opening round of the Kitty Harrison Invitational on Friday in Durham, North Carolina.
The Longhorns won two out of four singles matches and dropped three of their four doubles matches.
UT’s Neda Koprcina defeated VCU’s Olga Barshcheuskaya 6-2, 6-3 and Texas’ Dani Wagland beat VCU’s Anna Rasmussen 6-4, 7-6.
Longhorn Lana Groenvynck lost to VCU’s Magda Aubets in straight sets 6-6, 6-3 and UT’s Chelsea Crovetti fell to VCU’s Yana Morar 6-1, 6-3.
Wagland and Breaunna Addison defeated Duke’s Beatrice Capra and Ellyse Hamlin 8-4, then lost to Michigan’s Kate Fahey and Brienne Minor 8-6.
