No. 1 Texas men’s swimming and diving team routs No. 12 North Carolina

The top-ranked Texas men’s swimming and diving team won 13 of 16 events in a 160-132 rout of No. 12 North Carolina on Friday in Chapel Hill, N.C.

UT’s Will Lincon and Brett Ringgold notched two individual victories apiece and Longhorn Jack Conger posted the top collegiate time this season in the 200 butterfly at 1 minute 44.12 seconds.

Lincoln won the 100 yard breaststroke in 54.59 seconds and clinched the team victory with a win in 200 yard breaststroke. Ringgold swept the freestyle events with wins in the 50-yard and 100-yard races.


Texas senior diver Cory Bowersox swept the diving events, winning the one-meter and three-meter.

The Longhorns close their weekend road trip against No. 5 N.C. State on Saturday.
