Madisyn Cox posted the nation’s third-best time and won the 400-yard individual medley at the Texas Invitational at the Lee and Joe Jamail Swimming Center on Friday night. It was her second win of the invitational as she finished the race in 4 minutes, 6.55 seconds.
Two of Cox’s teammates had top-5 finishes in the event as Maggie D’Innocenzo finished in second with a time of 4:11.55 while Nora McCullagh clocked a 4:16.46 for fifth place. Smacker Miles won the “C” event with a time of 4:18.43.
Mimi Schneider finished the 100 butterfly in 53.02 to take sixth place. Rebecca Baxley was fourth in the consolation final in 54.66.
Quinn Carrozza was the only Longhorn in the 200 freestyle final and finished in 1:46.34 for fourth place. The consolation final was won by Brooke Hansen in 1:46.93. Joanna Evans took second in 1:47.30.
Olivia Anderson finished in third in the 100 breaststroke final with a time of 1:00.46. Jordan Surhoff took third place in 1:00.76.
Tasija Karosas took sixth place in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.08.
Texas capped the night with a time of 1:38.11 in the 200 medley relay, good enough for second place.
