Longhorns fall on first day of Blue-Gray Tennis Classic

Despite winning the doubles point, the Texas Longhorns women’s tennis team fell to No. 10 Pepperdine 4-1 Friday in the opening round of the Blue-Gray Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala. The Longhorns will face either Auburn or Oklahoma State on Saturday.

Breaunna Addison and Dani Wagland won their doubles match 6-1 as did teammates Neda Koprcina and Daniella Roldan to secure the Longhorns’ lone point.

Eighth-ranked Addison fell to No. 5 Luisa Stefani at first singles 6-3, 6-1.


Matea Cutura defeated Wagland 6-1, 6-2 while Roldan fel 6-3, 6-2 to Dzina Milovanovic.

Katie Poluta had the best opportunity to win a singles match as she led 6-3 after the first set. Apichaya Runglerdkriangkrai bounced back, however, winning the next to sets 6-2, 6-2.
