After a week that was positive on the field for Texas following a 42-28 win over Rice, but turbulent off the field with the firing of athletic director Steve Patterson, the Longhorns take on the California Bears at 6:30 p.m. at Royal-Memorial Stadium.
The Bears, with a coach rooted in Texas, are led by talented quarterback Jared Goff and have scored 108 points in two games. The Longhorns’ offense showed some “juice” last week against Rice, but the defense struggled at times.
Will Interim athletic director Mike Perrin’s tenure start strong? Can Texas focus on football?
