Texas running backs coach Tommie Robinson is leaving to coach at USC, the American-Statesman has learned.
His departure means none of Charlie Strong’s initial offensive staff from 2014 will still around in year three in 2016. Les Koenning, Bruce Chambers, Shawn Watson and Joe Wickline were all fired, and Robinson is apparently leaving on his own accord.
Robinson coached at USC for one year, in 2013, before joining Strong in Texas.
Robinson’s replacement at Texas will inherit a quality group of backs led by D’Onta Foreman (708 yards, five TDs in 2015) and Chris Warren (470 yards, four TDs).
