Coach Strong gifts Dallas police chief with Longhorn gear

Posted August 16th, 2016

It’s safe to say Texas football coach Charlie Strong has gained another fan.

Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown tweeted photos of himself striking the famous Heisman pose while wearing a Texas Longhorns hat and clutching a signed football from Coach Strong. Brown even threw in a dab.

The gift was clearly sentimental to Brown, who once attended UT on a full ride.

Brown, a native Dallasite, is the 28th Dallas Police Chief and encouraged members of his community to join the police force following the shooting of five Dallas police officers in July.

He added that while he left UT his senior year, he finished his bachelor’s degree at Dallas Baptist University and received a master’s degree at nearby Amberton University. Still, Brown considers himself a Longhorn.
