It appears Texas coach Charlie Strong is gaining popularity.
The No. 11-ranked Longhorns defeated UTEP 41-7 on Saturday to move to 2-0 on the season. The victory came just six days after Texas beat No. 10-ranked Notre Dame, 50-47, in double overtime.
After the UTEP win, Strong was greeted by students chanting his name as he entered the tunnel to the locker room. The victory was also the 50th of Strong’s head coaching career.
