Texas isn’t afraid to shop for prospects outside of the state. The Longhorns signed 27 prospects in the 2018 class and eight of those signees played prep football outside of the borders. Expect the trend to continue in the 2019 class with nearly half of the 70 offers given out by the Texas staff going to out-of-state players.

One of those players is St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) cornerback Jaden Davis. The 4-star is the No. 185-ranked overall prospect in the nation and the 19th-best cornerback, per 247Sports Composite. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound included Texas in his top 10 list he Tweeted out Thursday night.
Davis is one of a handful of St. Thomas Aquinas juniors to hold a Texas offer. The Longhorns fought hard for 2018 product Nik Bonitto, who picked Oklahoma over Texas at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio on Jan. 6.
Davis has already set up official visits to Ohio State and Oklahoma in April. Texas must get him on campus for an official to have a shot. The favorite is Florida.
