Malik Jefferson, Connor Williams earn FWAA All-America honors
Posted January 11th, 2016
Texas linebacker Malik Jefferson and offensive tackle Connor Williams were both awarded freshman All-America status by the Football Writers of Association of America on Monday.
Alabama, Clemson and Missouri were the only other schools with two players named to FWAA’s team.
Jefferson led the Longhorns with six quarterback pressures and finished second in tackles (61). Williams started all 12 games alongside freshman guard Patrick Vahe. Texas was the only school in the nation to start two freshman offensive linemen.
Jefferson and Williams are the 10th and 11th UT players selected to the FWAA Freshman All-America team. Other players selected previously include Derrick Johnson (2001), Colt McCoy (2006) and Quandre Diggs (2011).
