The Texas track teams won five events in a quad meet against Florida, Ohio State and Southern Cal at the Cardinal & Gold Challenge on Saturday in Los Angeles.
The Texas women’s team won four races and tied for second place with the Gators with 115 points. Host Southern Cal won the women’s team title with 159 points.
UT’s Ariel Jones outpaced Southern Cal All-American Amalie Iuel to win the 400 meter hurdles, crossing in 56.55 seconds.
Texas’ Chrisann Gordon won the 800 meters race in two minutes 6.81 seconds and Shay Petty took the pole vault title, clearing a height of 3.90 meters.
Teahna Daniels, Courtney Okolo, Shania Collins and Morolake Akinosun notched the top time in the 4×100 relay at 43.55 seconds.
The Texas men’s team placed fourth and got a victory from Charles Anumnu in the 100-meter dash. He ran a personal best time of 10.40 seconds in the 100 and placed second in the 200. Ohio State took the men’s title with 127 points.
